Obituary At the beckoning of the Lord, Darius Emmanuel Brown entered into eternal rest on October 12, 2013. Darius was born July 14, 1993 in Hartsville, South Carolina, the son of Desiree' Brown and Cedric Leonard. While in the seventh grade at Hartsville Junior High School, he was selected to join the Hartsville Senior High Marching Band. He was a 2011 graduate of Hartsville Senior High School. Darius was currently a junior at South Carolina State University majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Darius had a love for military service and was a member of the South Carolina Army National Guard. Upon completing basic training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT), PFC Brown would have been assigned to the 122nd Engineering Battalion Company A. He was a member of the Kay Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Hartsville, South Carolina. Even though he was a member of Kay Branch, Darius participated in youth activities at Wayman Chapel AME Church in Sumter, South Carolina. His hobbies included playing video games, talking and texting on the phone, attending family gatherings, especially at Grandma's house and coming home on weekends to play basketball with his friends. Surviving to cherish fond memories of Darius Emmanuel Brown include his devoted mother Desiree' M. Brown; two loving sisters, Danielle and Tiyonna "TiTi" both of the home; his adorable son, Dorian Barnes of Johnston, South Carolina; two loving and supportive grandparents, Richard and Ruth Brown of Sumter, South Carolina; two great-grandmothers, Louise Jackson of Hartsville, South Carolina and Rosa Lee Singleton of Brooklyn, NY; a special and caring aunt, Stacy (Darren) Dixon and one uncle, Richard Brown, Jr., both of Brooklyn, NY; four cousins/brothers, Antonio, Little Darren, Devon and Davon all of Brooklyn, NY; one best friend/brother Justin Alexander; his girlfriend Reyna Barnes; a special guardian, Oscar Dolford; his godparents, Travis and Jennifer Wilson; his godmother, Robin Lockhart; special family friends, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Bradley, Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Castelow and a host of other close friends and family members.
