Obituary "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread." Psalm 37:23-25 Jimmy Reed was born in Darlington County, South Carolina, a son of the late Johnny B "JB" and Daisy Hough Reed. He went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 3, 2013. He received his early education in the public schools of Richmond County. After years of having a crush on a special woman, he finally got up enough nerve to ask her to marry him via Casey Kasem's radio broadcast. On August 6, 1991, he was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Wincy Hawkins and they were blessed to be married for 22 years. "Brick," as he was affectionately known by many, was a devoted and loving husband. He loved his wife and his family with all of his heart. There was nothing he would not do for them. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. They brought great joy to his life. His grandchildren would tell him he was "the best granddad in the world." "Brick" loved to dance, but his passion was detailing cars. He detailed cars for both Gowin and Raceway throughout his life. He also detailed boats for Stingray. He took great pride in his work, especially when detailing his prize possession, his Mustang. He also worked as a caregiver. "Brick" loved the Lord and it was his love and willingness to serve others that led him to join Centenary United Methodist Church 22 years ago. He was a kind-hearted and loving person who touched the lives of everyone he met. His sweet Spirit will live on in the memory of his family and friends. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his granddaughter. Surviving to cherish the memory and maintain the legacy of Jimmy "Brick" Reed is his loving and devoted wife, Wincy Reed of Hartsville, SC; seven sons, Jimmy Reed, Jr., Alfred (Sharon) Stevens, Fred Reed, and Aaron (Faye) Winston all of Richmond, VA, Carey Hawkins, Jeno (Charlotte) Hawkins, and Casey (Crystal) Hawkins all of Hartsville, SC; four daughters, Andrea Reed of Richmond, VA, Katrice (Louis) Taylor of Hope Mills, NC, Tonia Davis and Joy Hawkins both of Hartsville, SC; two brothers, Linwood (Marilyn) Reed and Charles Reed both of Hartsville, SC; two sisters, Shirley Reed and Bernetha Reed both of Hartsville, SC; his mother-in-law, Gloria Edwards of Hartsville, SC; six brothers-in-law, Steve (Mary) Edwards, LeRoy (Marilyn) Edwards, Enoch (Terry) Edwards, Jr., Timothy Edwards, Stanford (Delene)Edwards, and Donald Ray (Juliette)Edwards all of Hartsville, SC; seven sisters-in-law, Sarah McClendon of Linden, NJ, Willie Mae (John) Rhaney, Yvonne (FitzRey) Williams, and Jacqueline Walden all of Ft.
