Julia Davis Singh was born December 1, 1951 in Hartsville, South Carolina, a daughter of John Edward and Josephine McKay Davis. She was educated in the Darlington county public schools and graduated from Butler High School in 1971. Julia grew up as a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church and attended faithfully with her mother, father and other siblings. She was a kind and giving person who would help anybody in their time of need. This attention to giving of herself led her to life's vocation as a self employed healthcare provider. Julia was a very quiet person of few words. She loved beautiful flowers and was an avid gardener. Julia loved her family especially her children and grandchildren. The final words that she wrote for others to witness were found scribbled on a plain piece of paper, titled "My Living Will by Julia Davis Rodgers Singh is to have Jesus in my life, #1 in life and beyond life". She was preceded in death by her parents and one of her brothers, John. Surviving to cherish the loving memory of Julia Davis Singh are her two children, Norris Lorenzo (Migon) Rodgers of Chesapeake, VA and Angeline (Calvin) Jackson of Summerville, SC; her brothers, Norris Davis of Society Hill, SC, James E. Davis, Jr. of Atlanta, GA and Willie (Thomasena) Davis of Hartsville, SC; her sister, Rose Davis of Society Hill, SC; seven grandchildren, Alexus, Kabarus, Lorenzo, Kholbe, Amani, Paris and Jhorden; and a host of other close relatives and very dear friends.
