Obituary Laura Mae Jackson Segars was born October 6, 1917 in Darlington County, South Carolina, a daughter of Levander "Sing" Jackson and Mattie Mack Jackson. She graduated from Butler High School in 1937 and retired from Saleeby Center as a Physical Therapy Aide. She was a devoted member, elder and mother of Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church. She was married to the late Joseph L. Segars. One of her favorite pastimes was sewing and she just loved making beautiful outfits for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking and going to the Butler Senior Citizens Activity Site. Her family, friends and those in our community will surely miss her love and compassion for others. Those who shared the joys of life with her and survive to cherish her memories are her four daughters, Sylvia (Clinton) Jacobs, Sarah (Leo) Johnson and Josie (Jerome) Wright all of Hartsville, SC and Elizabeth "Lil" Cain of Darlington, SC; two sons, Harold (Linda) Segars of Colorado Springs, CO and Levander (Ann) Segars of Hartsville, SC; a brother, Foster (Naomi) Jackson of Hartsville, SC; three special friends, Emma Mae Campbell, Minnie Williams, and Abe Richardson; 22 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 50 great great grandchildren and four great great great grandchildren and many other nephews, nieces, cousins and very dear friends.
