The Obituary "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." Revelation 21:4 A Time To Be Born … Patricia, better known as "Ann" to all of her family, close friends and co-workers was the third child out of eight born to Percy Owens, Sr. and Minnie McCutchen Owens on August 10, 1954 in Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. A Time To Die… She finished her course and entered into eternal life on June 2, 2013. A Time For Every Purpose Under The Heaven… Patricia received her early education in the Brooklyn, New York public school systems, attending P.S. 28, I.S.78, and Franklin K. Lane High School. She continued her secondary education at Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina and then transferred to South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina where she received a Bachelor's of Arts in English Education. After graduating from South Carolina State University, "Ann" relocated to Hartsville, South Carolina with her Aunt Rosa McCutchen Cave. Aunt Rosa and "Ann" became owner and co-owner of Jack and Jill Nursery on Eighth Street in Hartsville, South Carolina. After making her home Hartsville, South Carolina Patricia became a member at Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church. While attending Mt. Pisgah she served on the Usher Board, the Adult Choir, and was second in charge at the Mt. Pisgah Nursery School where she taught for many years. While living in Hartsville she was very active in the community. She and her Aunt Rosa along with other family members and friends formed the Black Essence Social Club to continue to serve the Hartsville community. During "Ann's" leisure time she enjoyed reading, travelling, knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, computer games, dancing and singing. She enjoyed times with family and friends which was very important to her. "Ann" relocated to Columbia, South Carolina and began a career at Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital in the Health Information Management Department formerly known as Medical Records. She enjoyed her job and formed many friendships that she felt would have last a lifetime. She worked diligently for 31+ years at Palmetto Health Richland until she had to go out on medical leave due to several illnesses, which led to her transition. She was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie McCutchen Owens, her father, Percy Owens, Sr. and her baby brother, Edward Y. Owens. A Time of Memories… Patricia "Ann" Owens leaves to cherish her memories three brothers, Charles (Lisa) Owens of the Bronx, New York; Leon Owens of Florence, South Carolina; Percy Owens, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia; three sisters, Sylvia (John) Owens-Draft of Columbia, South Carolina; Christine E. Owens of Columbia, South Carolina; and Donna Bell of Charlotte, North Carolina, one aunt, Rosa (Nehemiah) McCutchen Cave of Columbia, South Carolina, one uncle, Thomas (Annie Mae) Owens of Barnwell, South Carolina; four special nieces, who considered her as a second mother, Saquan Rene (Avery)Salmond Lyde , Ayisha Monique (Johnnie) Owens Closs, LaTasha Bennett, Minnetta Nicole Draft, many nephews, nieces, cousins, God children, friends, and co-workers. We Will Miss And Always Love You!!!
