every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing…" Ecclesiastes 3:1-5 Robert Lee Edwards was born September 11, 1935 in Darlington County, South Carolina, a son of the late Simon and Ethel Lee Lucas Edwards. He received his early education at Kellybelle School. He was married to the late Elizabeth Green Edwards. Robert was a hard working and dedicated man. He began working at Boyd Concrete Company, making vaults. He worked in Vault Construction for many years until his retirement. His favorite pastime was fishing. He loved spending time with his family. Those who knew and loved him will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his wife. Surviving to cherish the memory and maintain the legacy of Robert Lee Edwards is his special friend and caregiver, Hattie Toney of Darlington, SC; his two sisters, Linda Haynesworth and Nannie L Robinson both of Hartsville, SC; seven brothers, Joseph Edwards of Florence, SC, Eugene Edwards of Dublin, GA, James (Zelma) Edwards of Swainsboro, GA, Timothy Edwards of Hartsville, SC, Anthony Edwards of Phoenixville, PA, Larry Edwards of Knoxville, TN, and James Ray (Eloise ) Edwards of Effingham, SC, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and very dear friends.
